Sustainability focus

While hiking, camping, and generally enjoying the outdoors, we pack food for the trip, which leaves scraps and packaging that we need to carry until we discard it. Current options for carrying waste are single-use and not earth-friendly (plastic bags), don’t protect other items from contamination (mesh stuff sacks), or are bulky and cumbersome for this purpose (bear vaults).

This was a group project completed by myself, Allison Tenn, and Jordan Synnestvedt. Content, and ideas for illustrations completed by myself and Allison. Final illustrations created by Jordan.

Objective

Adding a lightweight, reusable waste container to one’s outdoor gear will give people an easy and convenient way to manage their waste responsibly and help us keep our outdoor spaces beautiful.
